Frequently asked questions

  • What is a forester?

A forester is an educated and training professional in the field of sustainable forest management. Foresters can come in a variety of sizes: consultants (such as ourselves), procurement (foresters who buy timber for their employer, i.e. a sawmill), public (such as a county or state forester), & others.

Not all woodland profesionals are foresters, including loggers - it is important to know who/what you are dealing with when it comes to managing your property.

  • Do you buy timber?

No, we do not. However, as consulting foresters we can assist you with managing your woodland for a timber sale, and administering the process.

  • What's the difference between "my woods" and "the forest"?

Nothing! Managing your woods is the same as managing your forest!

Typically, us foresters say things in the context of "forests, etc.", but the typical landowner may just refer to "their woods" - its all the same!

  • How large of a property do I need to manage it?

We've assisted landowners with as little as 9 wooded acres, to landowners with over 10,000 wooded acres!

No property is too small or too large!

  • What's brown and sticky?

    A stick!
